Top 12 Honda Cars To Buy In 2024

After a long wait, Honda introduced its most sophisticated electric SUV: the 2024 Honda Prologue. Announced in the last quarter of 2023, the Prologue went on display in 2024, as the brand’s second EV. There’s a lot of anticipation around what this vehicle will bring, and how Honda fits into this giant electric vehicle space. There’s no room for doubts about the truck’s capabilities, and for good reason. Honda has always been a well-known automaker of dependable, tough, and fuel-efficient vehicles. Aside from the highly-anticipated SUV, there are many Honda cars to buy in 2024. Honda’s 2024 lineup includes some of the most reliable cars of all time. You can choose between robust trucks, classy sedans, or the best-selling SUVs.

We compiled a list of the best cars that you can get this year. While some of the names may be familiar, others are new cars. Either way, they’re all worth checking out.

Here’s the buying guide to the 2024 Honda Lineup.

2024 Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot is one of our all-time favorites as far as SUVs go. Last year, Honda completely redesigned the Pilot, making it the largest and most powerful SUV the company has ever produced. The same applies to the latest 2024 Honda Pilot, which is now more advanced than ever. It’s spacious, powerful, fuel-economic, and fun to drive. It‘s one of the best SUVs for families of 5 or more. The Pilot is Honda’s largest SUV.  if you can forgive the smaller infotainment screen and the lack of a more fuel-efficient hybrid model, you’ll enjoy an SUV that is versatile and off-road capable.

The new Honda Pilot comes in six trim levels: LX,  Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, and Elite. The Flagship Drive team particularly loves the Touring trim, which is slightly higher up the lineup. It’s also among the most equipped, with a Panoramic Moonroof and a Bose Premium Sound System. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V6 engine engine, which sends 285 horsepower to the front wheels or all wheels. The towing capacity ranges from 3,500 pounds for FWD and 5,000 pounds for AWD models. And here’s what you should expect from the 2024 Honda Pilot.

2024 Honda CR-V

2024 Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is a top-selling SUV in the United States because it routinely delivers a spacious cabin, ample storage space, a smooth ride, and remarkable fuel economy. The CR-V is now 4.70 meters long, 1.86 meters, and comes with a longer wheelbase. This means that the 2024 CR-V SUV is now larger than its predecessor.

The standard CR-V model has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces up to 190 horsepower. Pairing with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), power goes to either the front wheels or all wheels. This setup is standard on the LX, EX, and EX-L models. According to estimates, the CR-V will get 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the interstate.

2024 Honda Passport

Next up in our top 12 Honda cars to buy in 2024 is the Passport. For a while, the Honda Passport has been a beloved midsize SUV. Today, the Honda Passport is still among the best midsize SUVs on the US market. We’ve heard some fantastic news about this family SUV. Honda plans to introduce a redesigned Honda Passport for the 2024 lineup. For the 2024 model year, the all-new Honda Passport will be a strong competitor among midsize SUVs. At a starting MSRP of $42,445, the 2024 Honda Passport comes in the same three-trim level arrangement.

Honda has produced one of their best engines for the 2024 Passport. The 3.5L V6 engine delivers 280 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque, making it both powerful and refined. Honda also confirmed that a unique trim will be added to the lineup, but it will share the same engine configuration as the other variants. The top speed of the Honda Passport is 118 MPH and takes only 6.8 seconds to reach from 0-60 mph when driving on fast roads.

2024 Honda Odyssey

2024 Honda Odyssey

The Odyssey offers a sensible combination of refinement, quietness, and convenience. In addition to having an excellent range, the new Honda Odyssey moves quickly. The eight-passenger 2024 Honda Odyssey is offered in the EX, EX-L, Sport, Touring, and Elite trim levels. The vehicle’s 3.5L V6 engine produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The engine powers the front wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission that shifts quickly. The Odyssey’s precise steering, solid braking, and handling give it a strong presence on the highway as well as on tighter roads.

The base model also includes an 8-inch infotainment system and upholstery with a leathered finish. With the third row folded down and the second-row seats removed, the Odyssey boasts a remarkable maximum storage capacity of 144.9 cubic feet. The 2024 Honda Odyssey has a top speed of roughly 111 miles per hour. The EPA expects that the 2024 Odyssey will achieve 22 mpg combined in city/highway driving. For a minivan, that’s average.

2024 Honda Prelude

Last year, Honda unveiled the famed Prelude at the Japan Mobility Show. During the event, the brand called this concept a ‘prelude’ to a new electrified model. While we first thought the Prelude would be a fully-fledged electric, the Honda confirmed via this statement that this sedan is like an introduction to an impending electric sedan. So, while we know that the Prelude comes with a hybrid powertrain, Honda hasn’t yet shared details about the powertrain specs and other performance details. What we do know about the Honda Prelude is that it will hit the market in 2024.

Aside from its design, the upcoming Prelude coupe, which will replace the original model that was retired in 2001, is expected to maintain front-wheel drive. With a hybrid powertrain and front-wheel drive, the 2024 Honda Prelude will be one of the most fuel-efficient hybrid sedans of 2024. If you ask us, it’s worth the wait.

2024 Honda HR-V

The Honda HR-V is a popular compact crossover SUV among consumers. The 2024 Honda HR-V will feature sharp handling, comfortable seats, and useful interiors. The interiors will have higher-quality products. To improve driver comfort on long drives, the HR-V’s seats now have cloth upholstery. The HR-V will be available in the same 3-trim level for the 2024 season. Not surprisingly, Honda has only made a few minor changes to the 2024 HR-V model.

The Honda HR-V is one of the most affordable mid-size SUVs in Honda’s lineup. It’s also the brand’s most compact and cheapest crossover. It features a 2.0L inline-4 cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. The latest HR-V accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.6 seconds.

This year, the Honda HR-V goes against rival SUVs like the Toyota Corolla Cross, Kia Seltos, and the Mazda CX-30.

2024 Honda e: NS2

Honda revealed the E: NS2 concept electric vehicle (EV) concept at Auto Shanghai 2023, along with the sibling SUV, the E: NP2. Now, you might wonder; what does the name mean? Well, we have the answer.  This is a placeholder name for the new platform and electric brand that Honda plans to introduce to the Chinese market, based on one of the prototypes that the firm displayed in the spring.

The e: NS2 crossover is made by a company called Dongfeng Honda. Unlike other Honda products that are sold around the world, the e: NS2 and the e: NP2 are only available on the Chinese market.

Appearsance-wise, the e:nS2 looks slightly similar to the NP2 concept. According to sources, the Honda E: NP2 and E: NS2 are underpinned by the same Honda E: N Architecture F platform. Honda recently unveiled the specs of the anticipated e: NS2, and they’re nothing short of exciting. The car has a front-mounted single-electric motor that produces 150 kW (204 horsepower). With a 68.8 kWh CATL lithium-ion battery, the Honda electric E: NP2 E: NS2 will have a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

2024 Honda Accord

One of the better representations of a family sedan is the 2024 Honda Accord. The Honda Accord continues to be the best-selling vehicle in the United States even after five decades and eleven model generations. Being one of the most well-liked midsize sedans, the 2024 Accord lives up to the nameplate’s reputation for quality. Since it underwent a facelift last year, the Accord is sportier. Now, buyers of the 2024 Honda Accord will have the option of a hybrid powertrain engine. All models of the 2024 Accord come standard with an FWD transmission.

The standard Accord comes equipped with a 1.5L Inline-4 engine. The only way to drive this engine is with a CVT drivetrain. The hybrid version of the vehicle has the same drivetrain layout, albeit with a 2.0-liter Inline-6 cylinder engine.

2024 Honda Prologue

Before we get into the Honda Prologue, let’s first talk about what the name means. According to the dictionary, the word “prologue” means a separate introduction of a literary work before the main narrative. It’s what comes in between the introduction and the main content.

The Honda Prologue is the most eagerly anticipated Honda vehicle, with fans hoping for its release as soon as feasible. The 2024 Honda Prologue introduces us to the next era of Honda electrified vehicles. It has a fully electric powertrain with lots of technology and a long driving range. The redesigned 2024 Honda Prologue includes an enhanced design and advanced technology, increasing the vehicle’s utility.

Honda has not issued an official statement on the price or trim level configuration. However, the Prologue will cost around $48,000. The Prologue’s wheelbase is 8.0 inches longer than the CR-V’s thanks to its design. In addition to Honda’s enhanced safety features, the 2024 Honda Prologue will have a 10-inch touchscreen system.

2024 Honda Civic

For more than 50 years, the Honda Civic has been the benchmark for the American small vehicle market. Following a facelift in 2022, the Civic was named North American Car of the Year due to its excellent styling, spacious cabin, and thrilling driving experience. The Honda 2024 Civic sedan and hatchback variants will keep on the history.

Compared to the Toyota Corolla or the Mazda3, the Civic has more back legroom and easily seats five people. The new Civic’s design will be remarkable, with a spacious cabin and improved fuel efficiency. Customers will have only one drivetrain option for the 2024 Civic: a CVT automatic transmission.

The 2024 Honda Civic will have a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 158 horsepower. The brand offers the Civic in three trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, and Touring. There is also a special edition trim called Type R, which serves as a hybrid turbocharged variant of the ordinary Honda Civic.  As one of the most fuel-efficient sedans, the 2024 Civic will get 30 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway on average.

2024 Honda Ridgeline

The Ridgeline is one of Honda’s most popular pickup trucks, and the only truck in our top 12 Honda cars list. With its new high-octane engine, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline will be able to outperform its predecessor. There is no official information about its characteristics or engine arrangement, but reports suggest that the truck will sport a 3.5L V6 engine capable of producing 280 horsepower. Honda also decided to add a sport-twist design to make it appear bigger.

With the 3.5L V6 engine, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline will attain a top speed of 130 mph. The 2024 Ridgeline includes modern technologies such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a JBL audio system, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There is no information regarding its first release.

2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid

The last entry in our top Honda cars to buy in 2024 list is the CR-V Hybrid. Honda debuted the sixth-generation Honda CR-V. To our surprise, it wasn’t like any other model in the past, because for the first time, the Honda CR-V came with a dual hybrid powertrain. The 2024 Honda CR-V includes a plug-in model.

While the standard CR-V model has a 190-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the CR-V hybrid model gets its power from an Atkinson cycle 2.0-litre petrol engine and an electric motor for a total power output of 186 bhp. With a battery capacity of over 17 kWh, the plug-in hybrid variant will have an EV range of about 82 kilometers. Also, the plug-in model has a larger cargo capacity than the ICE version, thanks to the battery arrangement.
