Feroxa Speedster: British-Built V8 Beast Based on the Aston Martin Vantage

The Larkin Feroxa Speedster is a stunning new speedster from the UK that made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. And it is hiding something unexpected beneath its sleek bodywork. They’re calling it the Larkin Feroxa, a limited-run, hand-built sports car based on the Aston Martin Vantage. This prototype looks almost as sleek as the RX-Inspired Iconic SP model.

Created by British engineer Douglas Larkin, the Feroxa Speedster model is available in just 10 units. Engine options include a naturally aspirated V8 or V12. The Feroxa blends classic performance with custom-built style in a lightweight carbon-fiber shell.

Chassis & Performance

While the Feroxa Speedster may look like a completely new creation, it’s based on the Aston Martin Vantage chassis. It is particularly the Aston model made between 2005 and 2018. This clever use of proven underpinnings allowed engineer Douglas Larkin to skip costly drivetrain development. He focused on design and performance refinement.

Under the hood, the standard model uses a 4.3-liter naturally aspirated V8, tuned to deliver 420 horsepower, up from the original 380 hp in the Vantage. Buyers looking for more power can opt for the Feroxa Speedster V12 variant with 500 horsepower. This was likely pulled from the V12 Vantage of the same era. Both engines work with a manual transmission, a purist’s dream in an age of automatics.

Thanks to the carbon fiber bodywork, the Feroxa Speedster is targeting a curb weight of just under 2,866 lbs (1,300 kg). This makes it lighter than the Vantage it’s based on. That means the Speedster will have a better power-to-weight ratio and sharper handling dynamics, especially when combined with the manual gearbox.

Exterior Design & Styling

The Feroxa delivers all the visual drama expected from a high-performance speedster. Its front end features a clean, sculpted look with sleek headlights integrated into the hood. This gives it a minimalist yet aggressive face. It also has circular LED daytime running headlights that add a touch of retro flair.

Around the back, the Feroxa has classic speedster proportions with twin rear buttresses, LED taillights, and a cool diffuser. I’d say the overall design combines old-school roadster inspiration with modern detailing. The panels are lightweight and aerodynamic. They contribute to performance and the car’s distinctive, handmade character.

Production, Pricing & Availability

The Larkin Feroxa is being produced in extremely limited numbers, with just 10 units planned. Each car is hand-built, making every example a bespoke collector’s item. The vehicle shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed was still a prototype, and some elements, especially the interior, remain unfinished.

As for pricing, no official figures have been released yet. However, given the carbon fiber construction, limited production, and custom craftsmanship, the Feroxa Speedster will cost more than the Aston Martin Vantage it’s based on.
