The 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ is a great addition to the E-Class lineup. Carrying on the momentum of the last model, this awesome sedan features luxury, performance, and, at the center of it all, a hybrid powertrain. Starting at an estimated $85,000 price tag, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 features unique AMG branding and features like the Race Start mode and a 60-kW DC fast-charging option. And that’s just the tip of a huge and twisted iceberg.
This new 2025 E53 model takes the E-Class to new heights with its 576- 576-horsepower hybrid powertrain, 3.8-sec 0-60mph time, and sophisticated design. Also new for 2025 is the E53’s AMG Dynamic Plus package, which adds the Race Start mode, boosting the power output to 603 horsepower. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+.
Electrifying Performance
The 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+’s best feature is its potent powertrain. At its core is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 576 horsepower.
The electric motor alone can produce up to 161 horsepower and 352 pound-feet of torque, contributing to a combined peak of 553 pound-feet. This remarkable power enables the E53 Hybrid to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds in Race Start mode. Even without this mode, the vehicle achieves a blistering 0-62 mph time of 4.0 seconds.

Impressive Electric Range and Charging Capabilities
A significant highlight of the 2025 E53 Hybrid is its 21.2-kWh battery pack, which offers a targeted electric range of 62 miles under the European WLTP cycle. While the EPA rating may be lower, the E53 Hybrid is still expected to provide more than 40 miles of electric-only driving range. This capability allows for daily commutes and short trips to be completed without engaging the gasoline engine.
The 2025 E53 Hybrid comes with a 60-kW DC fast-charging option. This system can recharge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. To top that off, the onboard AC charger supports up to 11 kW.
Advanced Driving Modes
The hybrid system in the 2025 E53 introduces two new driving modes: Electric and Battery Hold. In Electric mode, the car operates solely on electric power until the battery is depleted. Unlike the electric mode, the Battery Hold mode maintains the current state of charge.
The 2025 E53 Hybrid also features a haptic throttle pedal, which provides feedback to the driver.

Enhanced Dynamics with AMG Dynamic Plus Package
Folks who want a higher level of performance should opt for the Hybrid E53 model’s optional AMG Dynamic Plus package. This package includes the Race Start mode, which boosts the power output to an exhilarating 603 horsepower. The Dynamic Plus package also upgrades the braking system with six-pot calipers and larger 15.3-inch rotors.
The 2025 E53 Hybrid has double-valve active dampers that independently adjust rebound and compression. These offer a customizable and adaptive suspension setup. Like the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Rear-wheel steering comes standard in the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53. The rear-wheel steering enhances maneuverability at low speeds and stability at high speeds.
On top of that, the reinforced body shell has additional bracing. This also includes a cross brace between the front strut towers. A notable addition is the reinforcement for the rear axle mounts, improving overall stiffness and handling precision.
Sleek and Muscular Design
Compared to the standard E-Class, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ has a bold and muscular exterior. The front end features a new radiator grille with AMG’s signature vertical strakes and an illuminated surround. The most notable exterior features are the deeper front bumper and widened front fenders. The rear design of the E53 includes quad tailpipes, a new spoiler on the trunk lid, and a red E53 badge.
It’s worth mentioning that the exterior elements like the rear bumper vents and trailing edge fender vents are not functional. Still, they give the E53 Hybrid a cool, aggressive aesthetic.

Luxurious and Technologically Advanced Interior
Like the outside, Mercedes updated the 2025 AMG E53 Hybrid model’s interior. As a luxury hybrid sedan, the cabin has high-quality materials and features subtle AMG branding. What I particularly admire is the steering wheel, which features integrated controls for dynamic driving modes and regenerative braking levels.
European 2025 E53 buyers have the option of choosing the Superscreen. This adds a passenger-side display to the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system. This feature may become standard in the U.S. market, although final specifications remain unconfirmed.
2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Safety and Driver Assistance Features
The 2025 E53 Hybrid has a suite of awesome safety features. Standard features include the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, and Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function.
Pricing and Availability
While the brand hasn’t announced the exact pricing for the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ for the U.S. market, AMG indicated that the new model will be more expensive than the previous version in Europe. For reference, the 2022 E53 sedan price started at $82,450. Given the substantial upgrades and hybrid technology, potential buyers can expect a starting price in the vicinity of $85,000 to $90,000.
Deliveries of the E53 Hybrid to the U.S. will begin in the third quarter of 2024.
