2025 Volkswagen ID.7: Everything You Should Know

0

Volkswagen is diving deeper into the electric vehicle market with the all-new 2025 Volkswagen ID.7. According to the brand, the ID.7 midsize electric sedan is replacing the Passat sedan. The 2025 VW ID.7 electric sedan carries some of the coolest features you would expect from a modern EV, such as an 82-kWh battery pack, an all-wheel-drive model, and an awesome design.

Competing with the Tesla Model 3, BMW i4, and the Polestar 2, the ID.7 represents the next step in Volkswagen’s electrification strategy. Here’s everything we know so far about the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7. The VW ID.7 has a promising future in the EV segment since it follows the successful launches of the ID.4 SUV and ID. Buzz minivan.

Conservative Yet Stylish Design

Like its Passat predecessor, the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 has a conservative yet stylish design. The new EV draws elements from Volkswagen’s existing lineup of electric vehicles, particularly the ID.7.

The front end of the VW ID.7 features swept-back headlights and a thin horizontal light bar connecting them. These styling features create a modern appearance. The sharp styling elements on the front fascia and ridges on the hood enhance aerodynamics by channeling air to the sides of the body.

At the rear, the 2025 VW ID.7 features thin taillights connected by a horizontal bar. It has rounded edges and a simple bumper design. The electric sedan also comes with a sleek roofline that adds to the vehicle’s aerodynamic profile, illuminated front and rear logos, and power-folding mirrors. The 2025 VW ID.7 rides on 19-inch wheels, which come standard on the electric sedan.

Spacious And Comfortable Interior

The 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 interior offers generous interior space, typical of a midsize sedan. The cabin features a modern design with a straightforward dashboard. Key interior features include dramatic ambient lighting, minimal physical controls, and a large central touchscreen. The thin instrument cluster is recessed into the dash.

The ID.7 also features an illuminated interior decor. The best feature inside the ID.7 is the panoramic glass roof with electrochromic tinting, which can adjust its opacity electronically. Additional comfort features include a heated steering wheel, 12-way adjustable heated front seats with memory settings and massage functions, and three-zone climate control.

Infotainment Technology

The 2025 VW ID.7 comes with a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with exceptional graphics and connectivity options. The electric sedan also comes with a digital instrument cluster and a head-up display.

2025 VW ID.7 Powertrain

Under the hood, the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 comes equipped with a single electric motor powering the rear wheels, delivering 282 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque. This setup allows the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.5 seconds. For those seeking more power and traction, Volkswagen offers an all-wheel-drive (AWD) version of the ID.7 electric sedan. This model will arrive with a dual-motor setup, providing a combined output of 335 horsepower.

The 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 uses the same 82-kWh battery pack as the ID.4 SUV, with a driving range of up to 386 miles under the European WLTP cycle. However, under the EPA’s more stringent testing, the expected range is around 300 miles. Volkswagen also plans to offer a larger 91-kWh battery pack in the future, which should further extend the range.

Cutting-Edge Safety Features

The 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 electric sedan comes with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as automatic park assist, a memory system for park assist, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and a vehicle exit warning system.

The ID.7 also includes more safety features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Competitive Pricing

While Volkswagen has not yet announced official pricing for the 2025 ID.7, it’s expected to start around the $50,000 mark.

For 2025, the Volkswagen ID.7 competes with the Polestar 2, Tesla Model 3, Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan, Hyundai IONIQ 6, BMW i4, and the BMW i5 in the midsize electric sedan segment.

2025 VW ID.7 Release Date

Initially, the ID.7 was set to arrive in the U.S. in the second half of 2024. However, recent updates from Volkswagen indicate a delay in the sedan’s stateside arrival due to changing market dynamics.
