Why You Should Buy The 2024 Buick Regal

0

The 2024 Buick Regal sedan recently debuted in China, and we’re nothing short of envious for the Asian country. This comes a while after General Motors teased us with the first official images of the new 2024 Regal. To be exact, Buick launched the new Regal on the 24th of July at a special Shanghai event. The refreshed Regal is only available in China, where it joins the Excelle, Verano and LaCrosse in the brand’s 2024 lineup. The Chinese 2024 Buick Regal marked the second facelift of the sixth-generation Buick Regal, and is now entering its seventh year as a 6th-interation Chinese-exclusive sedan. The new Regal is available in two powertrains, a 166-hp turbo inline-4 for the base Premium trim and a 233-hp turbo inline-4 for the Enjoy. As a refreshed model, the new 2024 Regal has an updated exterior design and new connectivity features.

New Tri-Shield Design Language

The 2024 Buick Regal, a part of the SAIC-GM partnership, was unveiled on July 24th at a special event in Shanghai. This launch marks the second update for the sixth-generation Regal, showcasing Buick’s latest design approach and new logo.

Following the recent introduction of the fourth-generation Buick LaCrosse in China, the 2024 Buick Regal is the next model in Buick’s sedan lineup to feature this new design style. The most noticeable update on the 2024 Buick Regal is its new shark-nose front end and a large trapezoidal grille. These changes significantly enhance the car’s sleek, low profile.

Distinct Trim Levels

The new 2024 Buick Regal lineup is available two trim levels: the base Premium and Enjoy trim. Both trims come with a set of standard safety and driver assistance technologies. Aesthetically, the Buick Premium and Enjoy trims both have the same exterior styling and interior designs.

The difference between the Premium and Enjoy trim levels is on the wheel design. Also, while the base Buick Regal Premium model has a 166-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter Inline-4 LFV, the upper Enjoy trim gets a more potent 233-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter Inline-4 LSY. The other difference between the Premium and the Enjoy Trim levels is on the exterior 25T and 28T badges that identify each powertrain.

Potent Turbocharged Inline-4s

For the 2024 model year, Buick offers the Regal with the same inline-4 engines offered in the preceding models. The base Premium trim features a turbocharged 1.5-liter Inline-4 LFV engine that produces 166 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.

On the other hand, the 2024 Buick Regal Enjoy trim has a turbocharged 2.0-liter Inline-4 LSY, which produces 233 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

GM’s Swift 9-Speed Auto

Whether a buyer opts for the 166-hp or the 233-hp inline-4, the 2024 Regal is available with GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission. This transmission system is known for its quick, smooth shifts and reliability. It’s the same gearbox that’s available with GM’s other Chinese-exclusive sedans.

Good Fuel Efficiency

Like many sedans in its class, the 2024 Buick Regal has a fuel economy of 29 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway, for a combined MPG of 30. This means the Regal consumes more fuel than the Nissan Altima and the Toyota Camry LE, both of which get 39 MPG of combined City/highway driving.

Successful Chinese Sales

Since its debut in the Chinese market in 1999, the Buick Regal has enjoyed considerable success, with over 1.7 million combined units sold. This model has become a staple among Buick’s offerings. And every year, the Buick Regal evolves and adapts to new market trends. This has helped the Regal maintain its popularity over the years. With the latest 2024 Buick Regal release, the brand takes things to the next level.

The 2024 Buick Regal Is A Bargain Sedan

With starting MRSP of $22,240, the 2024 Regal is available for sale in China at Buick’s official dealers. A price like that makes the new Regal a bargain. This is why the 2024 Regal is among the Best luxury sedans under $30,000 for 2024. If you desire to drive the Chinese-exclusive sedan, head over to the Asian country, where the Regal sells alongside the Verano, LaCrosse and the Excelle. Still, the $22K price tag makes the 2024 Buick Regal more affordable than the Toyota Camry sedan, which starts at around $27K in 2024. On US soil, Buick is making waves with the upcoming 2025 Enclave, which is joining the SUV market this summer.

Here is the pricing for the 2024 Buick Regal

2024 Regal Premium: 159,800 yuan ($22,240 USD)

2024 Regal Enjoy: 175,800 yuan ($24,460 USD)
