Alpine A390_β Electric Crossover Coupe Heading To Paris Motor Show

Alpine recently offered a glimpse of its future with the teaser of the A390_β EV concept, which will debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 11. During its first reveal in 2022, Alpine stated that the electric A390_β is part of the brand’s strategy to expand its EV lineup. Now it seems like this electric Crossover Coupe is about to hit production. This post discusses everything you should know about the upcoming 2025 Alpine A390_β. And what’s with the name? Did Alpine make a typo and realize it when it was too late? Lol, I struggled looking for the “β” on my keyboard.

According to the brand, the A390_β Electric Crossover Coupe concept will enter production in 2025. I’m guessing it will launch as a 2025 or 2026 EV model. Beyond the 2025 Alpine A390_β electric coupe, the brand plans to enter markets in Asia and the United States by 2027. The A390_β will achieve a break-even by sometime around 2026. This electric crossover coupe will target the C-segment, a key area for growth. The 2025 Alpine A390_β aims to attract buyers looking for a balance of performance, style, and sustainability.

Alpine A390_β Design

While Alpine remains tight-lipped about many details, the teaser hints at a sleek and modern design. The A390_β crossover coupe appears to feature sweptback headlights in the front and Wraparound taillights in the back. Up top, the Alpine has an A390_β has a cool-looking flowing roofline. It also has a low hood that suggests a sporty, aerodynamic shape.

One notable exterior design feature of the A390_β  is the angular shoulder line, which gives it a bold, muscular stance. Overall, the 2025 A390_β doesn’t exactly take on a high-performance type of appeal. The idea here is that the A390_β aims to blend sporty aesthetics with the practicality of a crossover coupe. That’s a smart idea. This makes the  A390_β a key player in the growing electric SUV market.

Alpine A390_β is Built on the CMF-EV Platform

The A390_β electric crossover coupe will ride on the latest iteration of the CMF-EV platform. Alpine previously confirmed that the CMF-EV platform is the foundation for its upcoming electric models.

The Alpine A390_β shares this CMF-EV platform with Renault’s Scenic E-Tech. The CMF-EV platform is likely to support cutting-edge battery technology and advanced electric motors.

Performance Expectations

Although specific details about the A390_β’s powertrain have not been released, we can look at the Renault Scenic E-Tech for some clues.

First of all, the Scenic E-Tech offers 60 and 87 kWh battery packs, which provide a range of up to 388 miles (625 km) under the **WLTP cycle.

Performance-wise, the Renault Scenic E-Tech has an electric motor with 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. Expect the Electric Alpine A390_β to offer a similar powertrain and capabilities. It will rival the Tesla Model Y and the Hybrid Hyundai Tucson too.

More to Come at the Paris Motor Show

Alongside the electric 2025 A390_β, Alpine will also unveil the Alpenglow Hy6, a prototype with a six-cylinder hydrogen-combustion engine.

With its electric A390_β crossover coupe and hydrogen-powered Alpenglow Hy6, Alpine will redefine its brand identity as a leader in both electric and hydrogen mobility. For now, the countdown to the Paris Motor Show continues. And excitement continues to build for what is shaping up to be a groundbreaking moment for Alpine.
