The iconic DeLorean is making a comeback in 2025. But, this time, it’s all-electric. Lynx Motors recently revealed new details about the upcoming DeLorean DMC-EV. As you may have guessed, the DMC-EV is an electric version of the classic DMC-12, set to debut in 2025. While the vehicle has a new, modern take, it is coming back with its signature gull-wing doors and stainless-steel body, paying homage to the original. That’s similar to what Nissan will do with the Micra EV, and a lot of other automakers too. The new Lynx DeLorean DMC-EV has a starting price of $249,999, making it one of the most expensive upcoming EVs.

Lynx DeLorean DMC-EV Price Tag
The DeLorean DMC-EV has a starting price of $249,999. This may seem steep, especially when you consider its competitors. Still, the price tag reflects the tech and craftsmanship that Lynx Motors is bringing to the table. Reservations for the Lynx DeLorean DMC-EV are already open, and customers can secure their spot with a $2,500 deposit.
A Reinvented Classic
Lynx Motors is billing the DMC-EV as a “complete reinvention” of the DMC-12. So, this is now a simple rehash of the original DeLorean. Expect new, well, everything. The Lynx DeLorean DMC-EV design retains the signature gull-wing doors and stainless-steel body. It has these features but with a modern twist.
Renderings show a fully enclosed grille with “DMC-EV” badging, modern LED headlights, and sleek lower bodywork.
Bowing to the original model, the rear of the DMC-EV features new taillights, a glass-encased bumper, and a large diffuser.
High-Tech Interior
The DMC-EV interior features exceptional technology. The centerpiece is a massive widescreen display that stretches nearly the entire width of the dashboard.
Drivers will also EV’s appreciate the new three-spoke carbon fiber steering wheel. The interior of the electric DeLorean DMC-EV also comes with modern leather seats, and an updated center console equipped with a wireless smartphone charger and a rotary controller.
Lynx DeLorean DMC-EV Powertrains
Under the hood—or rather, throughout the car—the V6 engine of the past has been replaced by four in-wheel electric motors. Thanks to the quad electric motor configuration, the DeLorean DMC-EV can go from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds. With four motors at each axle, the DMC-EV has all-wheel drive as standard.
The Lynx DeLorean DMC-EV gets power from a 70 kWh CATL battery pack, which offers an estimated range of up to 250 miles on a single charge.
Safety Features
The DMC-EV comes equipped with modern safety features. The electromod will include side intrusion protection and traction control, although some details are still being finalized.
