The 2025 Tiguan/Tayron will utilize the MQB Evo platform, which underpins the Audi A3 and the GTI hatchback. While we know the platform, certain Tayron specifications are a mystery. European customers will have access to a powertrain selection similar to the smaller 2025 Tiguan. And you know what this means. The 2025 Tayron powertrain lineup will offer two PHEVs, diesel options, and 1.5-liter turbocharged mild-hybrid gasoline engines.
The next-generation 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan will have a hybrid powertrain. VW claims that the next-generation Tiguan will include a plug-in hybrid powertrain capable of traveling up to 62 miles in electric mode.

In its previous iteration, the last-generation Tiguan featured an 184-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, delivering 221 pound-feet of torque. Standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive characterized its configuration. The 2025 VW Tiguan/ Tayron will have a more robust performance, particularly in highway passing capability.
