Toyota is renowned for building some of the most reliable sedans, trucks, and family Minivans. It’s come to a point where buyers will go for anything with the Toyota logo, thanks to the brand’s reputation. The Toyota Sienta, an absolute MPV gem, is no exception. Roughly a year ago, Toyota introduced the new and improved Sienta model, which topped the charts with its new engine, enhanced interior, and performance. This time, the 2024 Toyota Sienta maintains its predecessor’s appearance, handling, and great specs.
Having driven the last model, we took the new Toyota Sienta for a spin. This 2024 Toyota Sienta review covers everything you should know about its engine, technology, performance, and more.
Overview Of The Toyota Sienta
Since its 2003 debut, the Toyota Sienta has been a flagship compact Minivan in Toyota’s lineup and one of the best-selling MPVs on the Japanese market.Â
Each generation of the Toyota Sienta has consistently provided solid support for family life, remaining closely aligned with Japanese families and demonstrating a deep understanding of evolving customer values from the very first generation.
The 2024 Toyota Sienta, continuing this tradition, introduces innovative features that cater to the dynamic needs of modern families. The vehicle’s emphasis on safety, comfort, and efficiency reflects Toyota’s commitment to enhancing the overall family driving experience.
One notable addition is the integration of advanced safety technologies such as the Toyota Safety Sense suite, encompassing features like pre-collision systems, lane departure alert, and adaptive cruise control.
The 2024 Toyota Sienta continues the legacy of providing unwavering support for family life. This ensures that the Sienta remains a top choice for families seeking a reliable, safe, and eco-friendly MPV.
What’s new On the 2024 Toyota Sienta?
The Toyota Sienta carries on the 2024 model year with no significant changes from the last model year.
So, everything in the 2023 and 2024 Sienta models is similar.
Exterior And Interior Design
Continuing the legacy of innovation, the Toyota Sienta 2024 is now built on the cutting-edge Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). This architectural shift underscores a commitment to delivering not just a vehicle, but an elevated driving experience with improved performance, enhanced safety features, and a more dynamic overall feel.
The cabin of the 2024 Sienta has been thoughtfully redesigned, with a 20 mm increase in cabin height from previous models. The result is a vehicle that provides a more comfortable and spacious interior for occupants.
The design approach is equally impressive, featuring a low horizontal belt line and an upright side glass design. This unique combination not only enhances the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal but also contributes to a spacious and open interior. The 2024 Sienta is a testament to Toyota’s commitment to marrying functionality with style.
In terms of passenger comfort, the 2024 Sienta introduces a thoughtful addition – a ceiling air circulator dedicated to rear-seat comfort. This innovative feature efficiently circulates warm or cold air from the air conditioning unit to the rear seats, eliminating temperature differences between the front and rear seats. This ensures that every passenger enjoys a consistently comfortable climate throughout the journey.
Engine And Transmission
The 2024 Sienta has the same 1.5-liter 3-cylinder 12-valve DOHC Dynamic Force Engine petrol engine as its predecessor. You can have the Sienta as a complete ICE with the 1.5-liter engine at the center of its performance, making 91 bhp.
Eco-conscious buyers can also have the Sienta 2024 in a hybrid form. This hybrid version combines the 91-bhp 1.5-liter engine with 79-bhp electric motors, bringing the total power output of the hybrid Sienta to 114 bhp and 120 Nm of torque.
The ICE and the hybrid Sienta versions send power to the wheels via a 10-speed direct-shift CVT System. In our last review, we admired the smooth, quiet shifts, especially with the Sport Sequential Shiftmatic system. Since Toyota hasn’t changed the driveline, expect the same drivability and performance on the 2024 model.
2024 Toyota Sienta Performance: ICE and Hybrid
In our last review, the 2023 Toyota Sienta accelerated from zero to 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds. The 2024 model has the same acceleration, along with a top speed of 160 km/h (approximately 99.42 miles per hour (mph).
Infotainment, Features And Technology
The most eye-catching interior feature is the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which features Apple CarPlay. You won’t be able to take your eyes off it.
2024 Toyota Sienta: Fuel Efficiency
Since it carries the same engine and specs with no modifications from the last model year, the 2024 Toyota Sienta has a fuel consumption of 1 liter per 25 kilometers. That’s better than the Honda Freed.
Toyota says the 2024 Sienta emits 95 g of CO2 per kilometer.
2024 Toyota Sienta Pricing
While the brand hasn’t yet released the pricing ranges for the 2024 Sienta, we expect it to follow a similar range as the 2023 model, with an entry-level X Sienta 2024 starting at $13,207 and the top 7-seater hybrid Z model coming in at 21,050.
We recommend the Sienta X model, which combines the seven-seater configuration and a 2WD hybrid powertrain – the best of both worlds. This version costs $16,390, which is a mid-price point.
