The 2024 Honda Fit, the brand’s popular subcompact car, just received a significant update this year. This is no ordinary Fit upgrade as there’s a lot to be excited about, and even loads more to experience behind the wheel. Also known as the Jazz, the refreshed fourth-generation 2024 Honda Fit introduces visual tweaks, a new trim structure, and improved powertrains for both gasoline and hybrid models. Having the opportunity to drive the new Fit subcompact car was an absolute pleasure, especially considering that the last time I drove a Fit was the 2005 model back in Blantyre, Malawi.
Of all Honda Fit 2024 features, the most exciting addition to the new Fit lineup is the all-new Honda Fit e:HEV RS, which brings sportier looks and performance. In the compact car segment, the Fit competes with the Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i20, and Mazda Demio, among many others. This 2024 Honda Fit review looks into the car’s performance, speed, specs, and overall usability as a subcompact car.
Let’s take a closer look at what’s new in the 2024 Honda Fit
2024 Honda Fit Trim Updates: Visual Differences and a New Sporty RS Model
The 2024 Honda Fit introduces a wider lineup with more visual differentiation between trims. The new and updated Fit comes in Basic, Home, Luxe, Crosstar, and RS trims. Each of these models, the RS Trim particularly, offers unique features that distinguish them from one another.
Basic and Home trims
The base and home trims sit at the bottom of the 2024 Fit/Jazz lineup. For the 2024 model year, the base trims offer minor changes to the front end. Unlike the previous models, the new models have a bolder exterior design, featuring unified bumper intakes and a clean grille design, much like what Honda did with the 2024 Honda Freed. With the previous grille design gone, the updated Honda Fit looks sleeker, with a more cohesive overall look.
Luxe trim
Aside from the base trims, the Luxe trim also received updates for the 2024 model year. The trim now comes with a more premium appearance with stylish new alloy wheels and added chrome accents on the intakes, side sills, and mirror caps.
Crosstar trim
The Crosstar trim has always been one of my favorite trims, mainly because it offers a lot more tech features and is highly equipped. It also has a crossover-inspired outlook. For the 2024 Honda Fit lineup, the Crosstar trim receives a new aluminum-style lower bumper and side sills, along with a redesigned grille that emphasizes its adventurous persona.
RS trim
The best model in the 2024 Honda Fit lineup is the new RS model, which stands out with its aggressive styling. Unlike the Luxe or crossover-inspired Crosstar trim, the Fit RS features a larger grille and a sporty front apron. To top that off, the Rs model has side sill extensions, a rear spoiler, and chrome tailpipes. To make it stand out from the rest, the RS model features the RS badges and five-spoke alloy wheels, which add to its more dynamic presence on the road. Being the sportiest of the bunch, the 2024 Fit RS interior has subtle sporty touches, such as orange stitching on the leather steering wheel and deceleration selector paddles. These paddles help the driver control regenerative braking.
While the sportier exterior grabs the spotlight, the RS-specific suspension setup makes the model handle a little bit better than the rest. To complement the sporty drive quality, the RS has a drive mode selector that lets drivers switch between Normal, Sport, and Econ modes.

Great Infotainment System
The interior across all 2024 Honda Fit trims has the same 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch infotainment touchscreen from the pre-facelift model. The touchscreen provides excellent visual and touch feedback. This makes it very user-friendly. One of the most admirable traits of the infotainment system is the easy menu system, which lets you navigate through it easily, even when you are on the road.
Enhanced Safety and Tech Features
For 2024, Honda upgraded the Jazz’s collection of safety features, called the Honda Sensing ADAS suite. The new model adds new safety technology like blind spot information, reverse assist, traffic jam assist, and sudden acceleration control.
Powertrain Upgrades: More Power for Both Gasoline and Hybrid Models
Honda has made notable improvements under the hood of the 2024 Fit, particularly with the e:HEV hybrid model. The hybrid 2024 Honda Jazz has a two-motor system now that produces 121 hp (90 kW) and 187 lb-ft of torque, a 13 hp increase over the previous version. This extra power makes the hybrid Fit more capable than ever. Plus, the new Fit has an improved throttle response, which means a greater acceleration.
Aside from the hybrid system, the Honda Fit is also available with a gasoline engine. The JDM-spec 2024 Fit ditched the old 1.3-liter engine in favor of a more powerful 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine. The new 2024 engine now produces 116 hp (87 kW) and 104.7 lb-ft (142 Nm) of torque. This is the same engine used in the hybrid variant but with the simplicity of a traditional internal combustion engine (ICE).
Interestingly, the Fit RS is only available as a hybrid with FWD for now. This means you can’t have the RS spec with the non-hybrid gasoline engine and 4WD. However, Honda has hinted at a future ICE-powered RS variant, which could offer more power than the rest of the lineup.

FWD And 4WD Available (Japanese Spec)
The 2024 Fit is available in FWD and 4WD configurations (exclusive to the Japanese market). Also, keep in mind that the Fit/Jazz is not available with a manual gearbox, not unlike the GR Corolla. In its defense, it’s not a performance-focused car anyway. The Fit is strictly auto-only, which may disappoint purists but aligns with the industry trend toward automatic and hybrid drivetrains.
2024 Honda Fit Pricing: Affordable Yet Premium
One of the top things about the 2024 Honda Fit is its affordability, especially considering the features and tech it offers. Pricing of the new Fit in Japan starts at ¥1,592,800 (around $11,011) for the Basic petrol-powered FWD model. On the higher end, the flagship Luxe trim in hybrid e:HEV 4WD configuration is priced at ¥2,664,200 (approximately $18,417). The new Fit RS in e:HEV FWD form is priced at ¥2,346,300 (around $16,220), a decent price to pay for a sporty, hybrid-powered compact car.
