Dynamic Partnership Overview

Away from creating powerful concept cars like the new-age Bimmer Skytop, BMW is partnering with various brands. We’ve witnessed things like the €250,000 Bugatti pool table. We’ve also seen Bentley’s take on skis and a Fiat 500-shaped fridge by Smeg. This means grabbing the brand cachet of a premium automaker is a desirable strategy employed by all manner of non-car-related companies.

When it comes to phones, BMW is particularly eager to lend its name to mobile devices. Over the past few years, we’ve seen BMW’s M stripes grace a few phones from niche device-maker Iqoo, with the 9 Pro and 12 Legend Edition offered in select markets worldwide. There was also the South Korea-exclusive Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra M Edition.

The latest phone to feature BMW’s branding is from Infinix. If you haven’t heard of them, that’s because they primarily offer budget-friendly Android devices to the Asian, Middle Eastern, and African regions. The Infinix Note 40 Series Racing Edition has been created in partnership with BMW Group Designworks and is said to be “built like a race car.”

Awesome Technology

In terms of tech, the Note 40 Series features 5G and up to 100-watt fast charging, magnetic charging, and sound by JBL. The display is a curved 120Hz AMOLED, while the main shooter is a 108-megapixel superzoom camera system with optical image stabilization.

Race Car-Inspired Design and Premium Features

The Note 40 5G Racing Edition stands out with its “Wings of Speed” design, inspired by BMW’s racing heritage.

This design, created using advanced UV transfer printing, enhances the phone’s aesthetics. The design also provides a better grip with its tiny ridges.

The use of premium composite materials adds to the phone’s durability and luxury feel.

Advanced Technology for Superior Performance

Under the hood, the Note 40 5G Racing Edition is packed with high-end technology. BMW’s smartphone supports 5G connectivity, ensuring fast and reliable internet speeds. The phone also features up to 100-watt fast charging and magnetic charging, making it one of the fastest-charging smartphones on the market. The sound system, developed in collaboration with JBL, promises superior audio quality.

Impressive Display and Camera System

The Note 40 Series boasts a curved 120Hz AMOLED display, offering vibrant colors and smooth scrolling. The main camera on BMW’s smartphone is a 108-megapixel superzoom system with optical image stabilization, ensuring crisp and clear photos even in low light. This high-resolution camera is perfect for capturing detailed images and videos, making it a great choice for photography enthusiasts.

Exclusive Software and Long-Term Support

Unlike the exclusive colors on the outside, BMW’s Note 40 5G smartphone has some cool standard internal features as well. One of those features is the UI, wallpaper, and menu styles.

Infinix preinstalled an exclusive wallpaper and UI skin on the Note 40 5G Racing Edition,. The phone will receive updates up to Android 16. Under the collaboration, the Infinix brand also offers three years of security patches for the Note 40 Racing Edition.

Affordable Luxury Phone

Despite its premium features and design, the Note 40 5G Racing Edition is surprisingly affordable, starting at around $225. The top-end variant, the Note 40 Pro+5G Racing Edition, is priced at $350. This makes BMW and Infinix’s smartphone a cost-effective option for those looking for a high-end smartphone without breaking the bank.
